Louise Hansen was born in Durban and studied Fine Art & Graphics at Tech.
“Having only drawn until my fourth child was born, I then pursued watercolour for 15 years. I received an oil commission, and not being one to resist a challenge, started me on my oil painting venture. So I now love oil and watercolour painting. Painting in rich warm colours. I taught art to friends in my garage at home and it blossomed out to teaching kids and adults. I started selling art in a Clarens gallery in 2014 and still do today. I love living in Clarens, the people, the small village lifestyle, surrounded by mountains.
Amongst these wonderful mountains we experience four definite seasons. Long warm summer days with impressive thunder storms, glorious golden autumns, crispy icy cold evenings in winter, then in spring, fruit blossoms, fresh green leaves on trees and an abundance of bird life. Who cannot fall in love with all of that!”
Louise would love you to visit her studio. Please call first to arrange an appointment.
