On the edge of the quad in the Gillitts Shopping Centre, Takaime has both indoor and outdoor tables. The restaurant is very simple, but no one minds as the sushi brings in lots of locals.
There is a small Chinese selection, including Dim Sum but most people come for the sushi. It is outstanding and is freshly prepared by experienced … Chinese Chefs ! Try the bean curd sushi which is delicious. There are also cooked fish options on the sushi menu for those a little cautious about raw fish.
There is no license and they do not charge corkage which makes an evening out with family or friends very comfortable financially. It also helps that the very pleasant and savvy owner, Sonia, offers a ‘buy one get one free’ every so often. As we write, this offer is on.
Their take away platters make stunning entertaining options.
