The house was discovered by the owners, who are lovers of the Bo-Kaap area, over 3 years before they finally acquired it. The property, rich with history and being over 120 years old, charmed them right away, yet it wasn’t possible for them then to fulfil their dream of owning it. In mid 2022, they re-discovered the home, and as fate would have it, this time, it would become theirs.

Immediately in love with the space, they knew the home showed incredible potential, but it required some love, research, and creative re-imagination to restore it to its former glory.

Today, Amina Boutique Hotel has gone through an entire restoration and boldly splashes the Cape Town skyline with its blue hues. It stands proudly as a haven for locals and travelers alike to enjoy. Amina is part of the Royva hospitality family, and each room has been artfully curated with a unique look and feel to be a little sanctuary in the middle of the city, offering an exceptional experience, personalized service and stunning views.

Rooms in lovely colours reflecting the colours of the Bo-Kaap, include air conditioning, satellite television, free WiFi. There are personal art pieces from family past. The tranquil palm garden has a pool, a sauna and mosaic fountain crafted from old teacups and saucers. There are lovely views of Table Mountain from the verandah.

Continental breakfasts are served and there is a dine in option by arrangement.

Designed for couples, friends and professionals from all walks of life to enjoy, packed with amenities and extremely secure, our guests have called it “their Cape Town home” – and that is exactly the idea – home away from home, in a hotel-style setting in the center of the city.

Set on the edge of the Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, you will find a fascinating history deeply rooted in the cultures of Malaysia, Africa, India and Sri Lanka. Known for its pastel-coloured houses and cobbled streets, this area, formerly known as the Malay Quarter, sits at the foot of Signal Hill.

During your stay at Amina Boutique Hotel, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the multicultural tapestry of the area.
