Spend a wonderful, varied day at the Areena Adventure Village which offers a wide range of outdoor adventure activities. There are masses of choices and when you want a break, the fully licenced Areena Quays Restaurant, on the river bank, can help with tasty re-fuelling.
Canoeing: The river is beautiful with fish eagle frequently seen and heard. 4 hours of peaceful, scenic paddling for R220 pp.
AmaZing Zing: A nine zipline tour over a kloof within our game reserve, accompanied by two adventure guides you will need to set aside two exhilarating hours to take part in this activity.
Abby: Abby is a wonderful giraffe who roams the reserve and loves meeting guests! You can pre-book interaction time with reception: only R150pp for groups of 4 to 8.
Abseiling: Our abseiling site at the Krantz of the Kwelera River offers stunning views and scenery. Descending down the sheer cliff towards a ledge above the river bed is thrilling’
Quad Bike Safari: Our guides will teach you how to drive our semi-automatic quads and take you on a guided game drive through our private game reserve.
Pellet Gun Shooting: Try your hand eye co-ordination skills and see if you can hit the target.
Archery: Try your skill at the ancient art of archery. Learn to hold a long bow and send an arrow sailing through the sky towards the target.
Obstacle Course: Put your balance to the test, as you cross over the dam on balancing beams, X-cross ropes, cargo nets and more. If you lose your balance you fall into the dam water below, and have a short swim to the bank to try crossing again.
Paintball: Takes place in the natural terrain with a few artificial obstacles.
Segway Tours: A Segway is described as a two wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter. 20 minute or 60 minute tours.
Areena Quay Restaurant. With both indoor seating plus lovely outlook and tables under the trees on the river bank, this is a great spot to relax over a tasty something.
It may be waffles and coffee or yummy milkshakes, a delicious meal or sundowners and snacks with friends. You may even see a kingfisher grabbing his lunch too!
Open from Thursday to Sunday. Sunday lunch is a buffet roast feast.
Activities need to be booked in advance so that you can get a day pass. The restaurant will also require a booking.
