The ultimate Robinson Crusoe spot with beautiful beach in one direction, Bhanga Nek Beach and Lake Nhlanga (Kosi Bay 3rd Lake) in the other.
Choose from 4 different camps, all rustic and some very basic, but all are clean and well maintained. There is shade for camping and simple cabins made with natural materials including palm leaves and reeds. You bring everything from bedding to drinking water . A couple of the sites power a generator for a few hours to enable a short period of lighting. Campers need to bring gas stoves or cook on fires and there is no electricity in the camp sites. This is just nature at its best!
There is easy access to a variety of activities including rock and surf angling, fishing in the Kosi Bay lakes, boating, hiking trails and turtle tours. Bhanga Nek camps and campsites are the ideal base from which to explore the Bhanga Nek area. Black Rock, Dog Point, Castle Rock, Lala Nek, Island Rock and Mabibi are also accessible.
The Bhanga Nek area is safe, with no security problems. The friendly, helpful local residents own and depend on the Bhanga Nek camps. The weather at Bhanga Nek is good all year round with hot summers and mild winters, warm sea water and a tropical atmosphere. The camping areas are for tents only as the roads are bad. The area is accessible only by 4×4, which keeps away the crowds, allowing you to enjoy your holiday in peace.
A new road links a section of the beach to the outside world, so this means that crowds can be there just for the public holiday days in season. Over these periods there are many other options.
