Camissa Farm means “place of sweet water” in Khoi. It is in the lovely Banhoek Valley between Stellies and Franschhoek. Set high in the mountains, in the clouds with a stunning view into the valley itself and across the valley floor to the Simonsberg.
Just eight minutes from Stellies and wonderful restaurants, it feels as if you are miles from anywhere. With farming is on a small scale and orchards are mixed to promote diversity. Olives, almonds, lemons, rosemary, garlic, rose-geranium, avos, walnuts, macadamia, and asparagus live happily together.

It is a place to reconnect with nature. Enjoy a walk in one of the most beautiful valleys in South Africa. Float in one of our pristine dams and fill your water bottles from a crystal clear stream. Find a quiet spot to relax and read or just enjoy a sunset hot tub soak. There is a nesting pair of jackal buzzards which circle constantly and at night you will hear nightjars calling and clicking stream frogs chirruping by the dam.
The Banhoek valley boasts a scenic tennis club and bikes can be hired locally. It is a heavenly spot for mountain biking.

Accommodation is self catering in beautifully decorated modern, Scandinavian type wooden cottages or a renovated barn. All are light and airy with lovely outlooks and privacy.
All cottages have:
A full kitchen and a fire pit braai (barbecue).
Fireplace or wood burning stove, and air conditioning for temperature control in the bedroom.
Bathrooms have shower, basin and w/c.

Sleeps 4 people, 1 Bedroom with Queen bed and 1 Queen-sized sleeping pod, 1 Bathroom.
Decorated in soft pinks, like the blossoms of the trees that surround it. It has a private wood-fired hot tub set among trees just below the cottage and is the cabin most suitable for people with mobility issues as there are no steps. Like the other cabins, it has a queen-sized sleeping pod that can be made up for an extra guest or two small children at a small extra cost and enjoys a wood-burning stove to keep you cosy in winter and an aircon in the main bedroom to cool or warm you in summer or winter.
The cabin has an expansive deck with wooden armchairs and hanging reading chairs for you to relax in. There is a beautifully landscaped dry stone walled braai area and a wood-fired hot tub to soak in while you enjoy the majestic natural surroundings.
Rosemary Cottage – From R2850 per night.
Sleeps 4 people, 1 Bedroom with Queen bed and 1 Queen-sized sleeping pod, 1 Bathroom.
Decorated in blues like its aromatic flowers, is set right next to the dam with views over the Simonsberg and Drakenzicht mountains. It has a private wood-fired hot tub with views over the water and the valley. Like all our cabins, Rosemary has a wood-burning stove and an aircon inverter for warm or cool weather. It also has a Queen sized bed in a sleeping pod for an extra guest or two small children which can be made up for a small extra fee.
Avocado Cottage– From R2850 per night.
Sleeps 4 people, 1 Bedroom with Queen bed and 1 Queen-sized sleeping pod, 1 Bathroom.
Positioned right next to the dam at the top of the horseshoe valley. It is an airy cabin with direct access to endless hiking and mountain biking. Although it is styled as a two-person cabin, there is a queen-sized sleeping pod attached to the living room which can sleep 2 children or an extra guest and can be made up for a small extra fee. Avocado cottage has a brand new kolkol Hottub and enjoys the most privileged position, right on the water next to a large gum forest. The deck of this cottage reaches out over the lake to allow you to jump into the cool water on a hot day.
Camissa Cottage – R4500 per night
Sleeps 6 people, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms.
A beautiful, modern wood cabin that sleeps 6 people. It has a wide deck that overlooks the Drakenstein mountains, whose magnificent proportions are reflected in the two dams next to the cottage. A hot tub is placed in the stone boma next to the cabin for you to enjoy a warm bath while taking in the view.
The main bedroom is furnished with a King-size extra length bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size extra length bed. The third bedroom is furnished with two single beds. The separate bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area will comfortably accommodate you and your guests. There is a large outdoor braai area surrounded by dry-stone walls next to the cottage.
The Bed In The Shed– From R2000 per night.
Sleeps 4 people, 2 Bedrooms (one with King bed and second with twin beds), 1 Bathroom.
A gorgeous two-storey loft on the corner of our farm shed with an infinity view down the Banhoek valley. It has a spacious sloped-ceiling bedroom with amazing views and an en-suite with a toilet and shower .
The apartment has a private open area with a fire pit braai (barbecue) and enjoys access to hiking, biking and wild swimming opportunities on the farm.
Please be aware that the shed is in a working area of the farm. This will not impact on your privacy and no one is allowed in the vicinity of the cottage but you may occasionally hear some activity in the morning when we start the day and at 5 when we close up.
