The Berg River around Velddrif is a fabulous place to go for a paddle.
Rent a canoe or kayack and enjoy the exercise as well as the fantastic bird life which you see as you glide along. Pack your own picnic lunch or simply tie up to a rustic jetty when you see somewhere to eat.
If you plan to fish, you will need a permit as the area has strict rules.
