This commercial forest, on the fringes of Hilton suburbia, has an extensive network of flowing single track trails. With forestry roads to climb in order to begin the next section of exhilarating descending through the trees, it is great MTB.
Cedara is the venue for the oldest ‘Classic’ in the country – the Hilton Classic, which was established in 1989. Cedara Forest plays host to a popular MTB race each year, the Cowan House Classic, which sets off from the Cowan House school.

Old signs and spray painted arrows on older trees may still exist through the forest from many years of races held here. However, it is generally unmarked. These single tracks are remnants of organized off-road events which have been subsequently well-used by local riders.
There are several access points from Hilton for locals, but the most popular meeting point is from Crossways or The Quarry Centre.
If you participate in the events or group rides here, you’ll get to know your way around and get the best out of this area.
Out-of-towners should best park at the Crossways Pub in Hilton.
