EARS Donkey Sanctuary welcomes visitors of all ages. There is no entry fee though donations are always welcomed.
Visits by appointment only. You will be taken on a tour of the Sanctuary to meet all of our donkeys and hear their stories. They love cuddles! Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat/sunscreen. WhatsApp Penny on 082 660 6714 to book your appointment.
We have 15 permanent donkey residents at the Sanctuary. Many arrived with serious health issues including starvation and injuries, requiring months of rehabilitation. With gentle, patient care these sweet souls have regained not only their physical health but their mental health too and with patient reintroduction to humans, they’ve learned to trust again.
By day they graze in a huge paddock with their pals, at night there is safe and warm shelter in our stables.
We also have two permanent pony residents, Jelly Tot a cheeky Shetland pony and Billie Busstop, an abused pony rescued from a bus stop in a nearby village.
We have a Charity Shop in Main Road, Greyton where we sell gently worn items, the proceeds of which are ploughed back into our rescue and rehabilitation work.
