Forest Cottage is a simple self catering holiday retreat. It is situated on the Umdoni Golf Estate with the pretty 18 hole golf course a 10 minute walk away and beautiful indigenous Umdoni Park Forest at the edge of the expansive lawn.
There are 6 bedroom, 4 in the main cottage with 2 beds each and 2 in the adjacent annex with 4 beds each. There are 4 bathrooms with shower and w/c.
There are no frills but there is everything you need. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, a comfortable living area and braai facilities in the garden. Rooms have fans. Towels and bed linen are provided. There is no TV as you have a chance here to leave the modern world behind, to relax and enjoy the wonderful natural treasures around you. The Umdoni Park Nature Reserve is great for walks, finding frogs, counting different bird species (over 200 species have been sighted!), enjoying the waterfall and general exploring with small mammals as precious visitors every so often. You are close to the beach which is semi private with rocky pools to explore and a small tidal pool for safe swimming.
Parking is secure on the estate. For golfers, golfing packages are available on request.
There are catering options at nearby Botha House as well as the Golf Club for days when you want a break.
A little about the Umdoni Park Forest: Established in 1918, 210 hectares of carefully managed forest and grassland to protect the flora and fauna. There is an education centre and an officer is available on Sunday mornings to answer any questions. Enjoy the photos to show a little of what you may see in the Forest and on the grasslands.
