Giba Gorge MTB Park has approximately 45kms of trails that can be used for mountain biking, hiking, awesome trail running, great bird life, a kids Y-Bike, horse rides, obstacle course and a world class BMX Track, what more could anyone ask for –  a beautiful waterfall?  Yes, only 2.5kms away from the main hub.

You will enjoy 5 star facilities at Giba Gorge.  Hot showers, a restaurant serving chicken and pizza, a big picnic area for family picnics and most of all beautiful well maintained trails. For those traveling, there is a shop where you can hire bikes.

Enjoyed by all nature lovers it offers the most amazing trails that traverse the valley in both directions with many link ups allowing you to flow from one trail into another. This allows you to create a different experience each time you hit the trails. An excellent cycle shop at Giba assists for those needing to hire bikes.

We are not just a Mountain Bike Park, we offer so much more…

Walk to the Lower McIntosh Falls. There are a number of walks, but this one is special. 11kms and it will take about 3.5 hours.

Description of walk  : Beautiful walk but challenging if you are unfit.  There is an interesting and easy climb to the Cascade. Climb up the Cascade

and then a hike to the lower McIntosh Falls and back. This walk is through forest so cool under the canopy.

There is also, a small and easy river crossing where you can take your boots off, if you want to keep your toes dry.

Giba gives the option of a walking guide which is fantastic, if he is available. So call ahead.

Some reviews:

“The trails are awesome! I was visiting Durban to teach… a course. I rented one of the bikes from Giba and we spent the next few hours riding some really nice single track. The rental bike was decent but the trails were very well done. There are many miles of tracks ranging from easy to fairly difficult. We took a few routes that had us run through some very well designed rock gardens. We rode about 20% of the park but had such a great time! All of the employees were really friendly and knowledgeable. The trails were well designed and drained well from the rain on the previous day. If you enjoy biking and you live or visit Durban, you don’t want to miss this great place!”

Natural Paradise

“Loved taking a walk here. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves nature, loves biking and hiking.”                                                 Nontandocele, Durban, South Africa

Small sections of Giba Gorge are wheelchair friendly. The start of the walks is along a quiet road and the restaurant is on level ground with views over the park area.
