There are 2 Camino journeys around Hermanus, run by this very experienced team: Walk The Way and the new, Walk The Bay.

A Camino can mean many and different things to a person. Whether you are looking for an outdoor walking holiday, a spiritual journey or simply a journey of introspection, then the Hermanus Camino is for you. Each one of us will have a different perspective as to what this journey would mean. View it as an opportunity to learn more about your surroundings, appreciate nature, acknowledge history and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Overberg region of the Western Cape.

Walk The Way

Guided 6 day (5 walking) and 5 night journey. A 73km slack packing walk through the diverse and scenic terrain of the Overberg region. Learn more about the flora, fauna and rich history that makes up this beautiful part of the earth!

All meals and most drinks are included and the accommodation is very comfortable. The camino includes a river cruise and 2 wine estate tastings.

The Hermanus Camino is to be enjoyed at your own pace. Please stop, pause, breathe, take photos and soak up the view. There are some steeper zigzag sections that require you to be walking fit… so moderate fitness.

Walk The Bay

Guided 4 day – 3 night – 33 km fully catered, slack packing adventure along the beaches and rivers of Walker Bay, Hermanus. We explore the marine and historical aspects of this untouched pristine coastline. Pure white sand, impressive dunes and amazing rock formations await you.

Known as the best place to spot the Southern Right whales between July and November, Walker Bay boasts much more than being the world-famous home to our beloved whales.

The Walker Bay Reserve lies on the south-western Cape coast. Home to lowland coastal fynbos, also known as ‘strandveld’, Walker Bay is rich in both flora and fauna that is unique to this part of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

The Klein River Lagoon, also referred to as “Kleinriversvlei”, is 10km long and 2km wide. Apparently the smallest river in the world, the Klein River ends in this lovely lagoon with over 120 species of bird reported.

Join us as we Walk The Bay together with the sand between our toes and the fresh ocean breeze at our heels as we adventure through the history and hidden gems of this iconic part of South Africa.

All meals and most drinks are included and the accommodation is very comfortable. This camino includes a river cruise.

An expert guide leads and a “sweeper” follows, so no walkers feel rushed.
