The main house was built in 1792 and has thatched roof bookended by classic gables, low wooden lintels across the doorways and deep windowsills by virtue of thick old walls. All modern comforts make this an idyllic place to take a break and unwind. Laze by the pool, hike around the farm or explore South Africa’s third oldest town. Swellendam has over 50 heritage, protected sites as it was established in 1745.
