In the magnificent surroundings of Southern Africa’s second largest indigenous forest, Karkloof Canopy Tour gives you the opportunity to view the huge trees, from the top and sides. The scenery from high up is spectacular. View the waterfall and see incredible bird life within the trees. Due to the rain forest nature of Karkloof, we are able to offer our guests a unique experience of zip-lining through mist and rainy weather in the summer, thus adding to the adrenaline of the adventure!
It is an unforgettable, Adrenalin filled adventure as you slide from one platform to the next along steel cables. We are known for our fast slides. Experienced guides ensure your safety and point out interesting things along the way. From 5 years old to 85, and in one case a 94 yer old bucket list lady was co-piloted through. The 2 hour Karkloof Canopy Tour takes you on 10 forest zip- lines, ranging from 40 meters long to 200 meters long, as you move from the canopy in stages, gradually descending to the forest floor. This is one of the longest forest slides in the world.
This beautiful area is known for its mountain biking and trail running. Canopy tours started here in 2003 and have become an important stop for eco-tourists. The forest canopy is a relatively young field of study and it is a truly amazing eco system. The Karkloof Forest is home to the endangered Samango monkey as well as the elusive Narina Trogon, an exceptionally beautifully coloured bird.
