Kelp Forest Diving
Join Pisces Divers, Simons Town to move through the swaying giant kelp stems which are crowned with leathery “leaves” reaching up to the light. They have gained the apt name of Great African Sea Forests and diving between the kelp stems is reminiscent of wandering through a forest. The kelp forest provides a refuge for schools of fish, small sharks and rays and many species of invertebrates and crustaceans. Sea urchins, abalone and limpets cover their strong hold-fasts which anchor the kelp to the rocky reef. It is a unique experience.
