Kevin is largely self taught. He always enjoyed drawing in his free time when younger.

As Kevin grew up, a limp persisted which could not be corrected or diagnosed despite visits to doctors and specialists. The limp lead to unexplained falling. Eventually Motor Neurone Disease was diagnosed within the last 10 years. He is 45 years old and is now in an electric wheelchair which allows him to get out of the house. His elderly Mother is incredibly helpful and a carer helps him by visiting twice a day. He has partial use of just one hand and arm now.

For most people this awful disease would be the definition of who they are… not Kevin. He manages to assist some homeless people! We focus here on the fact that he is becoming a very competent painter. His one good hand can open and hold bottles of paint and he uses his mouth to paint. Paint is pre -mixed for him. His work is excellent and you will rarely find unsold paintings in his home. He sold work at his first exhibition at the Wilderness Art Festival last year… and these were his very early works. He gets art advice from two local ladies who visit weekly to see and suggest improvements to his work.

Do visit him in his studio…just call first to find a convenient time. He works from photographs and on commission. He will create a wonderful original piece of art to remind you of a scene you loved on your travels.
