Le Lapin Ceramics is lead by artist and ceramacist Francoise Cheyne. With her brother and sister fully involved, it really is a family business.
A range of table and kitchen ware ceramic bowls, dishes, teapots, mugs etc with rabbits, flowers, birds, kiddies storybook characters and other animals as whimsical subjects. The feel is of a stylish English country cottage range.
Francoise loves painting best and is producing work in her unique style. The paintings, oftenwith rabbit themes, are lovely in tones of blue with splashes of other colour. There are also painted dishcloths which make great gifts, painted cushion covers and throws.
The pottery and studio is at I Clifton Manor, 14 York Road, Gillitts for collection when necessary, but you will find her at the Shongweni Farmer’s Market every Saturday to see her range of work. Le Lapin also exhibits their work at Art in The Park in Pietermaritzburg, once a year.
