Sitting on the verandah, it feels as if the entire world lies before you. The view is stunning over unspoilt valleys and African bushveld. In the background is KwaZulu- Natal’s Table Mountain. Leopards are still around but they are secretive. Several other species of game can be seen from the lodge. The exquisite brightly coloured bird, the lourie, you will very likely see and hear. The bird life is exceptional.
John is a welcoming host. His great grandfather was Sir Frederick Moor, the first Administrator of Natal. John is a certified tour guide and offers personalised tours all over Africa and has many interesting tales of the African bush and the wildlife he loves.
The property is secure and there is undercover parking. The lodge is beautifully decorated in a rustic but smart style with a wildlife theme.
All guest rooms have a view and are en suite with the usual facilities of WiFi, DSTV etc. Breakfast is traditional and tasty simple dinners are on offer for those who do not want to drive out once settled. Fridges are provided so bring your own drinks. Try cooling off at sunset with a frosty beer or gin and tonic while relaxing by the infinity pool with the view laid out before you.
Then drift off to a peaceful night’s sleep, lulled by the wonderful sounds of the African bush at night.
