50 kms South of Port St Johns is a small cluster of cottages and one of the Wild Coast’s most beautiful and unspoiled stretches of beach. There will be some friendly visiting cows lounging on the beach and there are interesting rocks and rock pools to explore. This is a great place for fishing and seafood foraging, with the necessary permits only as well as walking, cycling and you can visit the local village which is very welcoming. The climate is hot in summer and mild in dry winter months making it an all year round destination. We suggest 4×4 vehicles.

Rogers Mpande Cottage is perfectly situated for self catering with stunning views and direct access to the beach. Sit on the wooden deck to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets and whales as they migrate seasonally to their breeding grounds. Everything is provided including very good fridge and freezer capacity. Bath towels and linen and all bedding is ready for you. There is a compulsory housekeeping service which is additional to the daily rate and this is why the place is immaculate.

Any number of guests up to 20 are welcome. You can as a couple enjoy the place as long as the daily rate for 6 is paid.

Accommodation is spread over 3 bedrooms in the main house, accommodation in an enclosed verandah, 2 wooden chalets and a bungalow. The main area features a lounge (with fridge and dart board), a dining/games room with a table tennis table and a kitchen with 3 fridges, a chest freezer, an ice machine and cooking facilities  featuring a large gas stove, electric ovens, toasted sandwich maker, microwave, weber, gas and charcoal braais. There is a large washing machine and also a tumble dryer ( both operated by the staff ) .

  • 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom (shower, basin & toilet), and an enclosed verandah with 4 beds.
  • The outside area features 2 en-suite wooden chalets, a rondavel, an outside bathroom & toilet, and a spacious wooden deck, half of which is undercover.

This is Wild Coast simplicity at its best. Comfortable, easy living and with the beautiful coast a few steps away.
