In a tranquil setting, within a forest, Reflections Eco-Reserve borders Rondevlei and Langevlei, two lakes of major importance from a naturalist point of view (RAMSAR areas – wetland sites designated to be of international importance and no boating or fishing is permitted).
The owners, your hosts, Tim and Angelique, have a safari lodge background, so going out on a guided walk is incredibly interesting from bird, insect and a plant perspective. Since taking over the property, they have been clearing non -native plants and allowing the area to thrive as an indigenous, richly bio-diverse natural habitat.
It is a birdwatchers’ haven as there is a wide range of habitats including wetlands, coastal bush and fynbos. Besides nesting resident Fish Eagles, plus about 140 species of birds, you will find Cape clawless otter, water mongoose, caracal, bushpig, grysbok and grey duiker.

Accommodation is self-catering in either a timber Eco-Chalet or a Luxury Tent.
Breakfast and dinners can be arranged, with enough notice. Breakfast is a continental platter that we will deliver to your tent and dinner is presented as a braai (barbecue).
Eco- Chalets
4 luxury timber eco-chalets are powered by a combination of solar and wind. They have ample battery storage, so power outages are rare.
The large double height lounge has a fireplace for cool evenings.
Spacious and airy, each chalet accommodates 4 adults in two bedrooms and 2 children in an upstairs loft room. A large bathroom with bath and shower is complemented by an outside shower and an additional toilet. The outdoor shower is a perfect way to enjoy nature!
There is a large open plan fully equipped kitchen with dining and sitting areas and a fireplace, which open onto an expansive wrap-around deck with views across the reserve.
There is a braai (barbecue) area.
Luxury glamping tents
Perfect for couples looking to immerse themselves in nature.
Built on decks with sweeping views across the Rondevlei lake, they are the ultimate in eco-friendly ‘glamping’.
Each has wooden floors, an en suite bathroom with a shower that opens onto nature, a comfortable queen size bed, a kitchenette, and a spacious private deck with views of the fynbos and lake and a braai (barbecue) area.
The luxury tents are completely private and powered by their own micro off-grid systems.
