Join us on the River Rat for a scenic cruise up and down the beautiful Klein River in Stanford, just outside Hermanus.
***
The river is famous for its variety of birdlife, breeding and nesting in the reeds on the banks of the river. Other wild life includes some Bontebuck in a small reserve, clawless otters feeding on crabs, helmeted terrapins and the odd puff adder swimming across the river.
Fitted with a quiet, eco-friendly motor, birding clubs often use the boat for close-up views and the stability – thanks to pontoons – makes it a photographer’s dream.

We also specialize in social-cruises. Whichever time of day you choose, the river has something special in store for you. Sunset cruises are very special.
River Rat comes equipped with a braai and a toilet with a view. There are tubes for towing the kids and the water is warm and clear for swimming.

The Klein River is one of the most beautiful stretches of flat river water in South Africa.
Although the Klein River is 80 km long, it is the river with the shortest distance between its origin and mouth in the world (5 km as the crow flies!)
