Award winner, Sibuya is a unique safari destination. It has more navigable river than any other game reserve in South Africa. Consequently, for birding, it is hard to beat: there are nearly 400 different species. This beautiful game reserve is sanctuary to an abundance of diverse wildlife from elephants to otters, and almost everything in between, including the Big Five.

Sibuya covers some 30 square kms of varied terrain and vegetation. From moderately open river plains, pristine Lower Albany Thicket, patches of Cape Fynbos to a windswept, grassy plateau favoured by the larger grazing animals. Sibuya supports a high density of wildlife, ensuring an intensive and varied game-viewing experience.

As Sibuya is an Eco destination, the camps are run almost exclusively on solar power, weather permitting. With light pollution kept to a minimum, the atmosphere is wonderful. There is no WIFI, television, air conditioning, electric fans and only intermittent mobile signal – we encourage our guest to embrace nature while with us.

Arrival at the reserve is via a 45 minute boat cruise or transfer with a guide… so your wildlife experience starts straight away.                                                                                                                                  Professional rangers offer personalised game drives, rewarding walks, exclusive boat trips and fun canoe outings.

Swimming and fishing are also on offer, or you might choose to simply relax in a hammock under the trees – book in hand.                                                                                                                                      We pride ourselves on our delicious fresh, healthy buffet-style meals served al fresco or in one of the beautiful lapas.
