Silverstreams is a large, peaceful farm resort with a range of accommodation and plenty to do at the foot of the Southern Drakensberg Mountains
We are privileged to be able to share the diversity of the Drakensberg with you. Silverstreams is one of very few private accommodation establishments to share boundaries with World Heritage site, “Drakensberg Ukhahlamba Park”. Another border is with Lesotho at Bushman’s Nek. We provide a tranquil farm atmosphere with over 1000 acres of quiet streams, rolling hills, beautiful waterfalls and breath-taking views. KZN Conservation services manage the unspoilt lands on the other sides.
The farm was begun in the late 1800s and holiday accommodation started in the 1950s. The owner Sani and her husband created the resort as it stands, keeping the rural, uncluttered feel where the focus is on nature and stunning mountains.
All accommodation options are self catering and a licensed shop in a turn of century building, The Trading Store, has all the basic food supplies that you will need. Accommodation consists of individually decorated spacious, private cottages and studios, each with lots of privacy and many with lovely views. 2 to 8 people can be accommodated in the different units. There is also a camping and caravan section, sharing ablutions, with water and plug points. Places are unreserved places, unless a riverside stand over the Christmas holidays. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
The Berg is about hiking, biking, swimming in crystal streams. trout fishing and absolute relaxation in crystal clear air. Silverstreams has it all plus a tennis court and play area for children. There is also horse riding a short walk away plus a little cafe for easy meals.
