STUDIO3 is Durban’s first collaborative Art Studio of Dee Donaldson a well known figure on the Durban Art Scene.
Dee Donaldson studied Fine Art at the KwaZulu-Natal Technikon, gaining a National Diploma Fine Art in 1989, she then went on to do her National Higher Diploma Fine Art in 1990 with her Major in Painting, graduating with distinctions. She was awarded an H.S.R.C. Bursary, as well as the Emma Smith Overseas Scholarship in 1990. Dee started teaching painting in 1996.
STUDIO3 is situated off Mahatma Gandhi Road in Southampton Street in an Historic building which used to house the Municipal Fire Station and Police Station. In fact, the original city council coat of arms has been retained and faithfully restored. The area has a wonderful cosmopolitan atmosphere and is the perfect place for an Art Studio.
The Studio offers painting classes, as well as weekend Workshops. It also hosts a number of guest artists doing workshops in their disciplines, as well a variety of other artistic pursuits.
