Thatchings symbolizes all that is good about the Midlands.

This country styled B and B is in a beautiful setting of ancient pine trees, pretty gardens and rolling lawns, which overlook a picturesque trout dam. It is also completely surrounded by an unfenced conservancy and private game estate of 2000h. With no fences to inhibit them, impala, zebra, springbok. wildebeest, blesbok, red hartebeest, eland, waterbuck, some nguni cattle and duiker frequently wander onto the property. You may also be lucky and see shy caracal.

There is a guest dining room with a lovely outlook where very good breakfasts are served including Continental, full English and Vegan. By prior arrangement, you can enjoy dinner from a small menu, here too. There are various spaces within the garden to picnic or barbeque while enjoying the outdoors. Walking in any direction is great. Little ones have a playground area. By prior arrangement, guests can swim in the dam. A laundry and ironing service can be arranged. A limited babysitting service can be provided by prior arrangement.

Thatchings offers a variety of very comfortable en-suite accommodations, some under African thatched roof, with garden views. There are both self-catering and traditional bed and breakfast options. Each room is tastefully furnished with different cultural inspirations and includes electric blankets,  heaters, down duvets, flat screen TV with DSTV, tea- and coffee-making facilities plus a work station.
