One of South Africa’s best-loved hotels, maybe because we exist to please guests who stay with us. Excellent service is our top priority, followed closely by great food, beautiful gardens with views of the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, and merging contemporary interior styling with luxury features in our rooms.

A family run, lush oasis in Newlands, a pretty residential suburb that has a variety of restaurants, galleries, boutiques and delis within walking distance.

Shaded pathways thread through The Vineyard’s seven-acres of manicured garden and parkland nestled beneath the mountain.

Every facility here is top-notch: the state-of-the-art gym has great views, indoor plus outdoor swimming pool which is large and its surrounds gorgeous and the Angsana Spa is excellent.  Free Monday wine tastings are a nice touch. A jogging trail threads through the parkland with some giant tortoises to witness your efforts.

Once the home of Lady Anne Barnard, this sprawling 200 year old Cape Georgian hotel has a real mix of styles. There is, for instance, a hipster-style bar-café in the lobby, with handmade Pierre Cronje table, antique chairs, Pierneef prints, blackboard menus and hand blown glass pendant lights. The gym and pool are state-of-the-art modern, while the bar feels like an old-fashioned gentleman’s club. It’s a quirky mix as much loved by local residents, who use the hotel as a meeting hub, as it is by the many repeat guests.

The 208 rooms are well appointed, with TV, air-con, minibar, coffee and tea making facilities plus the usual comforts of gowns and toiletries. Styles vary and there is a choice of garden or mountain view.

There’s also a range of dining options to tempt you. Fine dining Morri has superb afternoon mezze style dishes and Asian-inspired dinner menu with the slopes of Table Mountain as your backdrop.

Perfectly situated for sightseeing: Outside of rush hour it’s 15 minutes to the city centre, 20 to the Waterfront, Kirstenbosch is seven minutes away; Kalk Bay about 20 and Cape Point under an hour.
