The lodge is situated at the foot of the magnificent Sentinel Peak with views across to Mont-Aux-Sources and the Amphitheater. It’s the trailhead for the Sentinel Peak Hike which accesses the top of Tugela Falls – the highest waterfall in the world.
A couple of the best hiking trails in South Africa are easily accessible from the lodge. You’ll also find a selection of great mountain bike trails. The area is well- suited to the dirt- junkie with varying terrain, routes and distance.
The views are spectacular, and comfortable beds welcome you back after long days exploring. A buffet breakfast is inclusive, there are tea time treats and the glass fronted a la carte restaurant with panoramic views, provides light and packed lunches plus substantial dinners.
There is a pub and comfortable lounge with TV and fireplace. The lodge offers a range of activities beyond hiking. It is a good place to spot the endangered bearded vulture.

The Lodge is community owned. The savvy community has employed a management company to build an economically sound, sustainable, and strategically valuable business that serves as a lasting asset for the community. The changes are very visible and they are elevating the Lodge to international recognition and enabling the community to proudly reclaim its place in the world.

Floor to ceiling windows give magnificent views of The Sentinel. The spacious suites have local stone and slate to blend into their surroundings. Either King extra length or twin extra length beds.
