Koring n Kaf has a small menu exploring global flavours. The food is excellent as well as the largely local wine list. Do not leave this area without trying this restaurant!
Chef Stefan Roos honed his skills both overseas and at top Cape Town restaurants. He uses spices wonderfully to produce aromatic and flavoursome dishes that please both meat eaters and vegans. It is overridingly a sourdough eatery and 80% of the food is cooked in a wood fired oven giving a lovely hint of smokiness.
The menu changes but presently some excellent choices are the sourdough puttanesca pizza, Italian meatball pizza with marinara sauce and parmesan cream, a vegan Turkish pide of confit potato and onion, truffle tahini dressing and topped with a parsley sumac salad, plus the Malaysian baked kingklip with fragrant basmati rice served with a flaky roti on the side.
Friday evenings there is service from 18.00 to 21.99.
