The Glenwood Bakery is the most recent venture by acclaimed British chef, Adam Robinson. It is chiefly an artisanal, sourdough bread bakery. This means the bread is made by hand using flour free of additives and which is also GMO-free. We also make a small range of pastries, ice cream and butter. We sell these from our shop in Glenwood, but also export much of our breads to various other eating establishments and shops in Durban.
We have a café with a limited and specialised menu, designed to showcase the breads. There is a good range of drinks, from coffee, teas, freshly squeezed orange juice to kombucha. As is the nature of bakeries, it opens early at 6 am. So, we serve breakfast seven days a week and quick lunches during the week; a range of sandwiches and a soup or salad. The bakery closes completely on Mondays to Fridays at 15.30. We open again at 17.00 on Monday to Friday evenings, but just for pizzas until 21.00. We are not licensed and charge no corkage to bring your own tipple . Over weekends we close at 1 pm and offer one interesting, always classic breakfast special along with a few other options from our weekend menu.
The place has inside seating and outside tables and a great atmosphere.
