Skilled locals work here to create excellent handwoven cloth, towels and much more. Take the tour and you can sometimes, try the hand loom for yourself.

An interesting small farm producing award winning gin. Pop in to hear their story and sample their gin, whiskey and rum.
The Tradouw Pass
A beautiful tarred mountain pass built by Thomas Bains. Views are spectacular. This is a must do and a good highlight to leave Barrydale on, as you journey to Swellendam.
En -route you will travel through the little village of Stuurbraak. Do stop here! Giant oaks, the Tradouw River and the backdrop of the Langeberg Mountains make for a particularly beautiful setting. Some of the little plots grow their own vegetables, tilling the earth the old fashioned way with horse drawn plough.
Barrydale Heritage Walk
An interesting guided tour around Barrydale to uncover its history and secrets. Takes roughly 2 hours… roughly… as there are likely to be a few stoep chats with locals en route.
Hike to the Barrydale Waterfall
Try this lovely walk with excellent views, which ends at a crystal clear pool and waterfall. This is just one of many lovely hikes in and around the town.
